Bhaavamaaya Devaji Patil
I'm an operations and logistics professional who is passionate about finding a balance between process optimization and negotiation with bottlenecks, with a love for simplicity. Over the last 5.5 years I have worked with people sharing similar interests in Mercedes Benz across India, China and Germany to successfully integrate electric vehicles into brownfield assembly plants in China and meet the planned capacity despite facing multiple operational challenges.

- Senior Engineer - Supply Chain Intralogistics Planning
- Despite losing of 10,000sq.m (20%) logistics space due to EV integration in a 185,000sq.m brownfield plant in China, which resulted in highest number of multiple stages of delivery in any Mercedes Benz Plant worldwide, I had to ensure smooth integration of EV into existing assembly by global coordination with teams across India, China, and Germany.
- Designed end to end simulation models to optimize logistics processes and warehouse planning for 5000+ parts spread across 50,000sq.m logistics area. Proactively identified and mitigated logistics inefficiencies at planning phase that yielded major cost savings. Assisted stakeholders in data driven evaluation of investments, CAPEX planning and enabled strategic decision making.
- Effectively managed crisis by inheriting a significantly delayed project and ensured that results were delivered on time. Rebuilt stakeholder trust and secured 2 additional projects.
- Engineer - Supply Chain Intralogistics Planning
- Designed intralogistics planning processes involving route planning optimization, warehouse capacity planning, Plan for Every Part PFEP to prepare for a new car variant and accommodating for phase out of an existing carline in two brownfield assembly plants in China
- Acquired higher responsibilities for the team as we worked on optimizing and streamlining intralogistics route planning process and proposed savings of 3 tuggers (operators) per shift, potentially saving USD 200,000 per year
- Designed and implemented training program for Master Bill of Materials (MBoM) creation, upskilling 10 colleagues and developed a team for intralogistics planning to accommodate for the rising responsibilities.
- Collaborated on automation tool development for MBoM processes, reducing manual effort and eliminating data integration errors, and enabled digital transformation.
- Awarded “Mercedes in Mech” Scholarship from Mercedes Benz Research and Development India during my 3rd year in BE Program.
